From Trash to Cash

SM Malls, in cooperation with DENR and PBE (Philippine Business for the Environment), hold a Waste Market Day at the SM Megamall open parking lot on April 5, 2008 from 8am to 2pm.

You may bring the following items in exchange for cash or items in kind:

  • scrap paper and cardboard
  • empty ink and toner cartridge
  • plastic bottles and plastic scraps
  • used lead batteries (from cars, UPS/voltage regulators)
  • aluminum, tin cans, busted rechargeable lamps
  • polysterene, styrofoam, junk cellphone and cellphone batteries (for disposal, not for recycling/buying)

Waste Market Day is aslo being held at the other SM Supermalls. Please see posters for details.

nice program coz for some these things are junk but for the less fortunate, these can save their life.

is this just a one day event?

This activity only proves that one man's trash is another man's gold.

I know this is being held in all SM Supermalls nationwide but I don't know if they all hold it every first saturday of the month or they take turns in sponsoring the event. I will inquire...
