My entry for this week's theme was taken in Sagada, Philippines. These stairs-like formation are called the Fidelisan Rice Terraces.

These terraces were built around the mountain. To be able to traverse these terraces, one has to twist around on thin patches of cement.

  1. Looks like a long climb but not too steep.
They don't go round the pole fast enough to get dizzy.

  2. How cool... that first shot is spectacular! Looks like you best not be adverse to heights to take that walk.

To answer your questions: Nope, not a professional photographer. Lol... In a year I can take thousands of photos and discard hundreds. Sometimes I'm lucky, sometimes carefully planned, a lot of times patient.

Most are shot with a Canon SLR, I've used several, between family members ownership, over the years. And a lot are shot with a Canon Powershot A520... my carry camera.

Thanks, so much, for your very kind comments :-)

  7. I knew it was rice fields as soon as I saw it. (Well, knowing your location might have helped a bit--if you lived somewhere like Norway it wouldn't have been as immediate.)

Beautiful phots which exemplify the theme nicely.

  14. Beautiful photos! Make me long for those rice terraces again.

    :)

I once got lost in the Fidelisan village when I went to see the Bomod-ok Falls. I was too stubborn to ask for directions (aren't all guys) so it took me 30 minutes to find my way out and reach the rice terraces (I eventually asked someone who happily pointed me the way).

By the way, it's also a pretty sight when it's harvest season as the paddies are all golden.

    :D
